Zumba Basic 1 - Kelly Bullard - Bay View Suit (Intensive)
This course teaches you the foundation and formula to teach a Zumba® class. You will learn the steps to four basic rhythms (merengue, salsa, cumbia, reggaeton). You ll learn how to put these steps together into a song, and how to create your first Zumba® class. We'll provide you with all the tools and resources you will need to teach a Zumba® class. License: One-year basic Zumba® license. You will have the opportunity to extend your license and join the Zumba® Instructor Network (ZIN) at this training. Prerequisite: None

Powerwalk is one of the most important popular activities offered at most of our resorts. Why? It’s simple, if you can walk, you can participate. Learn ways to add spark to your powerwalk and incorporate sculpting, intervals and more to make it more than just a walk on the beach. We then break for Aqua class which is in a tie for the most popular class at the resorts.
Power Training For Sport - Doug Briggs Phd. - Gym
Peaking for competition, avoiding over training, matching program parameters to the sport environment, and the psychology that ties them all together. Technique learned in this workshop will prepare the trainer or coach to provide cutting edge design to their athletes next week.

Moving from the prone position we will continue with client in the supine position. With fluid transition we will move client to the seated position, then again putting the client in the supine position to conclude with Thai Massage to face and scalp.

Group Instructor Foundations (Intensive) - Gay Gasper - Bay View Suit
This segment encompasses the skills to successfully structure a group exercise class. Discuss and develop a plan for cardio, strength or interval based classes. Identify important components in your warm-up and the cardiovascular segment of a class. Discover the importance of a post aerobic cool-down. Also, understand the elements of a post-aerobic cool-down and the final class stretch.
USFIT Personal Training Foundations (Intensive) - Amy Bomar - Conf. Room 4
The Art of Personal Training- learn basic skills an entry level trainer should possess while working within the fitness industry. Topics covered include: essentials of movement and motion, fitness assessment, movement and posture screening.
Power Plunge - Denise Cox - Pool
Muscular endurance training in the pool with NO equipment can be fun and exciting as well as "tough" when using your own body and the resistance of the water.

Group Instructor Foundations (Intensive) - Gay Gasper - Bay View Suit
In this segment you will learn the importance of counting, cueing and sequencing choreography to music. Understand the importance of using music in group exercise. Also, discuss effective aerobic choreography for your group exercise class.
Define aerobic and anaerobic exercise and how it relates to your classes. Practice sequencing appropriate exercise patterns and creative choreography for your classes. Discuss safe and effective pattern choices.
USFIT Personal Training Foundations (Intensive) - Amy Bomar - Conf. Room 4
The Art of Program Design- learn current program guidelines for cardiovascular, muscle conditioning and flexibility training, as well as how to design an effective program for the apparently healthy adult. Participants will engage in practical demonstrations and apply theoretical concepts with sample case studies.
From Zones To Zen - Missy Hawthorne - Hedo Spin Room
In this workshop you will learn how to successfully blend group cycling with yoga to give your students the “best of both worlds”; a great cardiovascular workout followed by challenging core work, stretching and relaxation.

Group Instructor Foundations (Intensive) - Gay Gasper - Bay View Suit
Continue to sequence cardio choreography for your group classes. Distinguish between the body's three energy systems and how that relates to your group exercise classes. Define impact and intesity. Learn major muscle groups and how to apply that knowlege to class sequencing for a group strength class. Discuss the importance of flexibility training and exercise patterns for your group classes. Define mind-body exercise and methods to apply to group classes.
The objective by the end of this segement is to teach a 15-25 minutes of either cardio, interval, strength or mind-body portion of a class.
USFIT Personal Training Foundations (Intensive) - Amy Bomar - Conf. Room 4
Personal Training Progressions- take your personal training to the next level and learn new skills to progress your clients and participants within their programming. Topics covered include: foundations of functional fitness, exercise progressions and regressions, and the NEWLY added essentials of group training for personal trainers. Participants will engage in several practical demonstrations as well as help develop, design and co-teach a group training session.
** USFIT Personal Trainer Certificate- participants must complete study questions, two case studies, and attend all USFIT PT workshops and sessions (listed above) in order to qualify for certificate.
